CIDEFES Day 2026 Promoted Scientific Exchange and Collaboration Across the Research Community

The CIDEFES Day 2026 took place on 16 July at Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário de Lisboa, bringing together researchers, faculty members, PhD and master’s students, research fellows, and project collaborators for a day dedicated to sharing and discussing research in sport, exercise, physical activity, physical education, and health.
In its second edition, CIDEFES Day consolidated its role as a meeting point for the scientific community of CIDEFES – Centre for Research in Sport, Physical Education, Exercise and Health, creating opportunities to present ongoing research, discuss emerging findings, and foster new collaborations.
The programme featured several formats for scientific communication, providing researchers with opportunities to present projects at different stages of development. The Funded Projects session highlighted ongoing research initiatives and provided a space to discuss their implementation, challenges, and opportunities, while the Project Roundtable provided an overview of different research funding opportunities and discussed how researchers can navigate funding schemes and identify opportunities aligned with their projects and career stages.
The programme also included a Poster Session, a Plenary Lecture, and the Study Pitch + Project Reports session, offering opportunities for researchers to present studies, projects, and emerging research ideas.
The afternoon included scientific presentations and thesis-related sessions, including PhD Thesis I reports, further highlighting the importance of CIDEFES Day in supporting scientific development and the training of early-career researchers.
The 2026 edition also welcomed researchers from CIFI2D – Centre of Research in Physical Activity, Health and Leisure at the University of Porto, strengthening the collaboration between the two research centres and creating additional opportunities for scientific exchange and networking.
Beyond the presentation of research findings, CIDEFES Day aims to provide a regular forum for scientific discussion, networking, and the development of new research ideas, bringing together researchers at different career stages and promoting a collaborative research culture.
CIDEFES thanks all researchers, students, collaborators, and partners who contributed to the success of this second edition and to the continued development of a dynamic and collaborative research community.
