How do we think about, practice, and teach physical exercise today? In this engaging seminar, Professor Fábio Dominski will explore the complexities of the modern fitness world and the psychological factors that shape motivation for physical activity. The session invites participants to reflect critically and creatively on contemporary approaches to exercise and its communication in society.

The event will feature two complementary sessions:

  1. Challenges of the Contemporary Fitness World — exploring trends, contradictions, and the social meanings attached to fitness culture.

  2. Physical Exercise and Motivation: Thinking Outside the Box to Get More People Active — discussing innovative strategies to foster engagement, inclusion, and sustained participation in physical activity.

About the speaker
Professor Fábio Dominski holds a Ph.D. in Human Movement Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), Brazil. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher and teaches in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. His research focuses on Sport and Exercise Psychology and Physical Activity and Health, with over 70 scientific publications and three books. He is also the creator of the “Exercise and Science” podcast and the author of “Exercise and Science: Facts and Myths” and “The Psychological Journey of Physical Exercise.”
