Seminar about the research interests of the NLA colleagues visiting CIDEFES

Associate Professor Ingfrid Mattingsdal Thorjussen

My background is in sociology of sport, and the topic of my PhD thesis was physical education and inclusion in culturally and ethnic diverse contexts. I also do research on gender issues in physical education, general didactics (with special focus on inclusion), physical education teacher education and outdoor education in higher education. Theoretically I draw on intersectional perspectives, critical theory and critical and socio cultural pedagogy. I also have an interest in the use of models-based practice in physical education (e.g. Teaching games for understanding, Sport Education, Cooperative learning, Activist approach...)
