Summary

Waves of Opportunity: Surfing for Employability and Environmental Action is an innovative initiative that transforms surfing into a tool for empowering youth, promoting employability, sustainability, and social inclusion. Targeting NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and financially disadvantaged youth, the project provides certified surf guide training, green skills development, and eco-entrepreneurship education, creating pathways into sustainable careers in surf tourism and coastal economies.

Participants will gain international surf instructor certifications, enhancing their professional opportunities, while the eco-surf entrepreneurship program will foster the creation of sustainable businesses and green tourism initiatives.

The EU Surf Lab will serve as a collaborative platform, bringing together surf professionals, policymakers, and environmental advocates to co-develop sustainable strategies for the surf economy.

Through a structured and scalable model, Waves of Opportunity redefines surfing as a catalyst for economic inclusion, sustainability, and social impact. By equipping young people with professional skills, business opportunities, and environmental awareness, the project promotes long-term innovation in the surf industry, thereby strengthening coastal communities and contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
