Summary

COFAC, Cooperativa de Animação e Formação Cultural crl, opens a call for the attribution of a Assistant Project Manager Scholarship within the scope of the project CIDEFES/IJBNPA developed at the Lusófona University, in the research unit CIDEFES.

Description of Action

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Editorial Secretariat for IJBNPA. This position will work closely with the Editor-in-chief and Springer Nature/BMC publisher to provide support for the dissemination and communication of ISBNPA’s related activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Editor-in-chief in managing manuscript submissions, peer-review process, and editorial decision-making.
  2. Coordinate with authors, reviewers, and editorial board members to ensure timely completion of all stages of manuscript processing.
  3. Ensure the correct format of the manuscripts according to journal guidelines and ensure adherence to publication standards.
  4. Manage IJBNPA’s online submission system
  5. Liaise with Springer Nature/BMC publisher for production-related matters such as proofreading, typesetting, and article formatting.
  6. Collaborate with ISBNPA’s and CIDEFES communication team to promote published content through various channels including social media platforms.
  7. Support the organization of editorial board meetings, conferences, workshops, or webinars related to IJBNPA and CIDEFES.

These activities will occur at CIDEFES, Universidade Lusófona. Participation in ISBNPA and IJBNPA meetings will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Benefits

Monthly allowance and mode of payment: The holder will be allocated a monthly maintenance allowance of 1594,20 (corresponding to a BGCT) €. The scholarship has a duration of 12 months, automatically renewed if no part express that wish until 3 months before the end of the contract or if there is no plausible cause to terminate the scholarship. If the holder is not covered by any social protection scheme, he/she can ensure the exercise of the right to social security by joining the voluntary social insurance scheme, under the terms of the Code of Contribution Schemes of the Social Security Social Security System.

Eligibility criteria

08./ To apply for the research grant, it is necessary:

To be enrolled in a Doctorate in Physical Education and Sport, or equivalent. Preferably, the candidates should have a background in both nutrition and sport or physical activity related fields.

To be a citizen usually living in Portugal; this requirement is applicable to both national and foreign citizens.

The candidate must be proficient in oral and written Portuguese and English languages.

09./ Application:

The call is open from July 15 (Lisbon time) until July 31 11:00 pm 2023. Applications, and all the supporting documents described in the RBI and in this Notice of the Call, must be submitted online via e-mail (Este endereço de email está protegido contra piratas. Necessita ter o JavaScript autorizado para o visualizar.), using the reference “Application for CIDEFES/IJBNPA in the e-mail subject. Applications submitted by other means will not be accepted. To formalize his/her application, the candidate must submit a motivation letter, accompanied by the following documents:

a) an updated version of your Curriculum Vitae (CV); b) Documents proving that the candidate meets the requirements for this grant must be provided, including certificates of degrees in nutrition and sport/physical activity fields and proof of enrolments in the Doctorate in Physical Education and Sport, or its equivalent.

c) other documents found relevant by the candidate.

In case of foreign academic degrees, and to guarantee the application of the principle of equal treatment to applicants with national and foreign academic degrees, it is mandatory to submit the recognition of such degrees and the conversion of the respective final grade to the Portuguese grading scale.

The recognition of foreign academic degrees and diplomas, and the conversion of the respective final grade to the Portuguese grading scale, can be issued by a Portuguese public higher education institution, or by the Directorate General for Higher Education (Direção Geral do Ensino Superior, DGES). Selection process

10./ Evaluation and Selection: All admitted applications must be graded from zero (0.00, minimum) to twenty (20.00, maximum) in each of the evaluation criteria:

Criterion A – Scientific component [50%]

  • Degrees in both nutrition and sport/physical activity-related fields.
  • Participation in previous research funded projects, taking into account the quality, quantity and level of the project (national or international)
  • Published papers in peer-review journals
  • Communications in scientific conferences

Criterion A – Professional component [50%]

  • Previous experience in nutrition or physical activity and health promotion-related projects
  • Previous experience in public policy programs on the topics of nutrition and/or physical activity

For the purposes of deciding on the granting of the scholarship, applicants will be ranked according to the weighted average of the classification obtained in each of the criteria. In the event of a tie in the first two positions, applicants will be called for an interview, with an evaluation metric between 0 and 20 points. The grade for this interview is added to the curriculum evaluation results of the two applicants and from here the applicant to be recruited will be selected.

11./ Evaluation Coordinator: Prof. António Labisa Palmeira

The evaluation panel will analyse applications considering the evaluation criteria disclosed in the Notice of the Call, considering all the appreciation elements. For each application, a final evaluation form will be produced by the panel where the arguments that led to the classifications attributed to each of the evaluation criteria and sub-criteria are presented in a clear, coherent and consistent way.

12./ Results disclosure: Evaluation results will be disclosed via e-mail to the email address used by the candidate to send the application/indicated. The ranking list of the candidates will be published in CIDEFES website (http://cidefes.ulusofona.pt/).

13./ Deadlines and procedures for preliminary hearing, claims and appeals: Once the provisional ranked list of the evaluation results has been communicated, applicants who have an unfavourable provisional decision may use their right to dispute it during the preliminary hearing phase, which takes place within 10 working days, according to Articles no. 121 and the following of the Administrative Procedure Code (CPA). The final decision will be disclosed after the analysis of applicants’ arguments presented in the preliminary hearing. Final decision can be claimed within 15 working days or, alternatively, appealed within 30 working days, after the communication of the final results, respectively.

14./ Funding: The payment of the studentship will start after the return, by the candidate, of the duly signed grant contract, which must take place within a maximum period of 15 working days from the date of receipt. The grant awarded under this call will be funded by the project YoPAPPE.
